Top Ten Tuesday: Love Stories

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this is my first time participating. When I saw this week's theme was "10 Favorite Love Stories in Books", I had to make my own list. I'm a sucker for a good love story! Here are my favorites to date:

1)   Jamie and Claire in Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, and Voyager by Diana Gabaldon

2)   Joanna and Llewelyn in Here Be Dragons by Sharon Kay Penman

3)   Tessa and Gavin in The Proud Breed by Celeste De Blasis

4)   Rhett and Scarlett in Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

5)   Elizabeth and Nathaniel in Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati

6)   William and Isabelle in The Greatest Knight and The Scarlet Lion by Elizabeth Chadwick

7)   Mary and William Stafford in The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory

8)   Julia and Brisbane in The Lady Julia Mysteries by Deanna Raybourn

9)   Vishous and Jane in Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward

10) Charley and Reyes from the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones

Young Adult Honorable Mentions:

Meghan and Ash in The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa
Anna and Etienne in Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Alex and Brittany in Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
Katy and Daemon in The Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout
Aria and Perry in the Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi

All of these books reside on my keeper shelves so I can relive my favorite love stories over and over again. Do any of my faves make your list? Head over to The Broke and the Bookish to see what love stories other bloggers are gushing about!

  1. Finally! Someone who mentioned Jamie and Claire. My second favorite love story, but it may even come to challenge Anne and Wentworth from Persuasion. I was told to read The Pendragon's Banner Trilogy. Now I think I have to bump that up on the reading list!

  2. Nice list! I also had Gone with the Wind. Mary and William was also a good choice - probably would have made my top 15...

  3. Great list! I've really got to read the Greatest Knight. I just finished my first Elizabeth Chadwick book the other day and really like her writing :)

  4. The Mary and William Stafford love story is so sweet in The Other Boleyn Girl. I haven't read the Pendragon Banner Trilogy, but I love Arthurian legend so I might have to look into that. Great list!

Great list. I've never read Gone With the Wind but I definitely do think that Scarlett and Rhett have such a great and tragic love story. Sighs. Now I want to watch the movie again!

  11. What a wonderful list! :D So many couples that you just love to see together. I absolutely agree with you on Rhett and Scarlett. There's so many couples, it's hard to select the top 10, and you even had some honorable mentions. Thank you for following, and new follower here, too!
