Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. (Checked out library books don’t count, but eBooks & audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists!
Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia at The Printed Page,
is on a blog tour! This month's host is Chick Loves Lit.
From the Barnes & Noble clearance sale:
ARC from Unbridled Books. To be published September 2010. Takes place over the course of one day, the Fourth of July, 1876, in Sonoma California. Looks interesting.
And I won this one from Lori's Reading Corner and it arrived courtesy of Penguin. Unfortunately, UPS left it on my front step and it rained while I was at work. It was in pretty bad shape but I propped it up open-ended in front of a fan for about 24 hours and I'm going to be able to read it. I would have been so disappointed if it was ruined. It's never going to be pretty again, but it's functional!
I got The Gendarme too, and I really enjoyed the Beverly Swerling books as well. Have you read the first book in the series?
ReplyDeleteHope u enjoy the Gendarme as much as I did. Well done; enjoy all of your books.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to read the Gendarme (partly due to the cover!) for ages - I do hope I can find it.
ReplyDeleteWow The Gendarme looks really good! I cant wait to hear more about that one.
ReplyDeleteI loved The Gendarme..
ReplyDeleteHave another great reading week ahead! Here is my Mondays: Mailbox/Where Am I/Musings post.
Great titles. I've seen Julie Garwood's name around a lot lately. Always fun to find books in the bargain bin :)
ReplyDeleteI have The Gendarme here and can't wait to read it! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly hearing a lot about The Gendarme these days. Such a shame about the rained on book. I have a big rubbermaid box on my front step under the mailbox with Parcels/Packages written in big letters on all visible sides and the top and the delivery guys are pretty good about putting my books in it.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about The Gendarme. I really want to read The Blind Contessa's New Machine, too - sorry to see your copy got wet. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGood thinking on a way to save the wet book!
ReplyDeleteCity of Glory looks interesting.
Enjoy your week reading :)
I hope you enjoy all those great books.
ReplyDeleteOh, so many lovely books! Don't you love the mailbox...and the Barnes & Noble sales?
ReplyDeleteYour site is beautiful...love the setup and design.
ReplyDeleteOh I so want to read The Blind Contessa's New Machine...let me know how it is.
I see you are reading One Thousand White Women...I really enjoyed it...hope you do too.
What great books arrived in your mailbox! The Gendarme and The Blind Contessa's New Machine sound great. Too bad that one was water damaged, sometimes they put them in plastic bags when it's snowing or raining here but this could happen easily if they don't.
ReplyDeleteOk...so I am jealous too. The Blind Contessa's New Machine and The Gendarme. Whining here. LOL
ReplyDeleteCan someone help me please...do I post what I received in the mail on my blog or on the host's blog?
ReplyDeleteTHANKS.
