Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post, visit one of their blogs and link to Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!
Decided to check out the first books in these series based on reviews that came through my Goodreads update emails. Gotta love those, even if I'll never have enough time to read all of the books I discover!
"Awright", calls out the evil one with the knotted rope to the mob of us, "what kin any of yiz do?" Do? I wonders. What do we do? We all look around at each other. What does he think, we're all bloody runaway apprentices with trades? Missin' sons of royal houses? What we do is scavenge, beg, and steal - ain't it plain?
This series looks like fun and has gotten pretty good reviews. About an orphaned London girl who becomes a boy to win a job on a departing warship with visions of chasing pirates and treasure in her head.
When Destiny McCree wakes up beside a dead man on an Oregon beach, she knows only this: she has to keep moving, keep searching, and keep one step ahead of the forces that have been pursuing her from the heart of Scotland to this isolated spot. Why? The death of her lover has left her alone, with little memory of her past. A glimmering serpent-shaped ring is the one clue she has - and a bargaining chip in a most dangerous game.
Haven't read this author yet, but this looks like fun. Apparently she hooks up and goes on the run with a sexy thief and they both have special powers: "riding a tide of danger, magic and lust". Sweet.
It's been a while since I read my last Keri Arthur book, although I am reading her other series. I really should rerequest and read some more from her.
ReplyDeletethe Bloody Jack series is very popular at my middle school library!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read either of these authors but they sound good.
