Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two "teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! Share the title & author, too, so that others can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
This week my teaser comes from The Duke of Shadows, a tale of star-crossed lovers whose bittersweet story sweeps from the dangerous revolts against British rule in exotic India to the drawingrooms of London high society. I've finished it and really enjoyed it.
From page 243:
His grip had fallen away. She turned around, raising her face to his. If you understood madness, did that mean you shared it? For she had known why the woman could not keep from screaming. And never better than at this moment, for if she began to scream at him now, she knew she would also never stop.
Interesting teaser :) Still haven't tried her books, but they're on my tbr list :) Happy reading!!!

ReplyDeleteHi, Lady Q! =) Thanks for visiting my blog. I like the way you choose teasers, too. For them to really work, they be merely random, right? =)
This one is particularly dramatic. I'd certainly check the book out if I weren't weaning myself away from Romance at the moment.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Nice teaser, sounds very suspenseful. Mine is at The Crowded Leaf.

Ooh, I have read all four of Duran's romances but "The Duke Of Shadows" is my favourite :-) Her personal knowledge of India shines through, and I loved the rich emotions and and complex portrayals of the hero and heroine.
ReplyDeleteThat is yummy cover ;p And I love you choose the teaser too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome teaser!!
