It's the Historical Holiday Blog Hop Giveaway! Yay!


I love the holidays and I love historical fiction, so of course I had to participate in the first ever Historical Holiday Blog Hop
hosted by one of my favorite people, Amy at Passages to the Past!

    Out of your picks I would like to win The Sister Queens or Jane. I've read The Queen's Vow and Clockwork Prince and I thought they were excellent. I've also started reading some of Kate Emerson's books and I think she is a very talented writer, as well. And who could forget Kate Quinn or Michelle Moran?!

    I read so many wonderful books this year. The Sisters Brothers and The Song of Achilles stand out from earlier in the year, and I just finished an older epic that I loved- The Passing Bells. I'm looking forward to more historical fiction in 2013. Thanks for this giveaway!

    I'm a gfc follower as mamamunky. The best historical fiction I read this year was the King's Mistress by Emma Campion. I wasn't overwhelmed with love for many books this year. Not sure what it was. I lost my reading mojo for a while because of it. Thanks for the giveaway!

    Really hard to pick a favorite book of the year..but I really, really liked the first two you show, Queens Vow and Jane. These are two of my favorite authors, I've read everything both C.W.Gortner and Robin Maxwell have written, and they never disappoint.

    My favourite read of this year has been A stranger in my Street by Deborah Burrows. It's set during the war and in my home town of Perth, Western Australia. The author vividly captures what life would have been like in my home town during that era. It kept me hooked!

    My absolute favorite book of the year is the Newsflesh trilogy by Mira Grant. Of course, you need to love zombies to love these books. For historical fiction, I loved loved loved The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Such a love for books!

    Grave Mercy (fantasy) and Jepp, Who Defied the Stars (fiction) are my favorite historical novels for the year! (It would usually be Philippa Gregory's latest, but I haven't gotten around to reading either of her newest ones yet.)
