Library Loot: April 21

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post, visit one of their blogs and link to Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

My library had their annual spring book sale, and I was a little disappointed in the selection this time,
but I didn't come away empty-handed:

The Proud Breed  Ahab's Wife; or, The Star-Gazer  Company of Swans

A Venetian Affair: A True Tale of Forbidden Love in the 18th Century   The Smoke Thief (The Drakon, Book 1)

The Shivering Sands    The Riddle of the Reluctant Rake

I also picked up three classics:
The Deerslayer by James Fenimore Cooper
The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
And a beautiful hardcover illustrated edition of To Kill a Mockingbird that was my find of the day!

I actually did check out a book while I was there, one I'd been on the waiting list for:

Savage Lands

  1. Lovely loot :-).........I am so envious as our libraries don't have these wonderful sales and what is there on the for sale shelf is never exciting as this. The To Kill a Mockingbird edition does sound a real find.

    Enjoy!

  2. I'm hoping the library sale I go to in a few weeks has some good ones. You made out pretty well I'd say! I have the other book by di Robilant - I haven't finished it yet, but I liked what I read so far.

    Enjoy your new additions!

  7. Great loot! I loved The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe. She has a very lovely story telling voice, I think.

I've always meant to pick up a book by Eva Ibbotson but never have. I need to remedy that!

My teen is in the middle of reading To Kill a Mockingbird for school right now.

I left a comment to you on my library loot post from last week and had your blog confused with someone else's when I commented about gardening posts. I'm very sorry about that.

  8. Hi!
All your books look really interesting. I would love to read The Smoke Thief. My library has the second one but not the first one. I guess I may have to buy it. Have a great day!
