Mailbox Monday: February 15

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. (Checked out library books don’t count, but eBooks & audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

66 Love Letters: A Conversation with God That Invites You into His StoryEve: A Novel

66 Love Letters: A Conversation with God That Invites You into His Story came from Thomas Nelson via Booksneeze. I've never read the Bible and I thought this book had an interesting concept, and may help a beginner like me. The author imagines the 66 books of the Bible as 66 letters from God and attempts to determine what message God is communicating through each book and offers advice on how to interpret it and apply it to our own lives. The book is designed to be read over time and the chapters are short; I plan to read one each night before bed.

I went to Target looking for a snow shovel with a little time to kill and realized it had been a while since I treated myself to a brand new book. So I spent twenty minutes browsing their limited, yet surprisingly diverse book section and chose Eve: A Novel. The cover drew me right away and then the back cover sold me. This book has piqued my curiosity so I've bumped it up on my TBR pile.

Mailbox Monday is hosted by The Printed Page.

  6. Eve, A Novel sounds intriguing! I read a book last week, by Elizabeth Berg, that was fiction based on Biblical characters...The Handmaid and the Carpenter.
