Mailbox Monday: June 27

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. (Library books don’t count, but eBooks & audiobooks do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists!

Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia @ A Girl and Her Books, is on a blog tour!
This month's host is The Bluestocking Guide.

My local Joseph-Beth Booksellers has been sold to Books-a-Million (yay!), and is liquidating their inventory before BAM takes over. By the time I got there the store was pretty picked over, but I did manage to find a few to add to my shelves!

The Highest Stakes  Within the Hollow Crown: A Valiant King's Struggle to Save His Country, His Dynasty, and His Love  The Wolves of Andover: A Novel

Kismet  Stranger (The Blades of the Rose)  Dawnkeepers (Final Prophecy, Book 2)

One Touch of Scandal (Avon)  The Secret History of the Pink Carnation  The Dead Travel Fast

I've already devoured The Dead Travel Fast (ya'll know I love her Lady Julia Grey series), and it was very good. Have you read any of the books I picked up this week?
If so, I'd love to know what you thought of them!

  1. Great mailbox!

I've read a few of the books you received this week, with mixed reviews. I really enjoyed The Secret History of the Pink Carnation and The Dead Travel Fast, and I liked Within The Hollow Crown but I disliked The Wolves of Andover. I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on them once you finish.

  2. Lots of goodies! I love Lauren Willig's Pink Carnation series -- they're all really good, so get started on The Secret History of the Pink Carnation and I think you'll be hooked! I enjoyed The Dead Travel Fast (I'm a big fan of Raybourn) but it's not as good as Lady Julia/Brisbane. Happy reading!

  4. I have got to try Deanna Raybourn! I have a couple of her books on my TBR mountain. I read The Secret History of the Pink Carnation and liked it so much I bought the rest of the series. Unfortunately, I got distracted and haven't had a chance to read them yet.

My mailboxes are here and here. Happy reading!
